The expert fitting of a stage floor demands special floor-laying.

Companies who have no experience and who are not aware of the relevant working technology, which in no way can be compared with everyday floor laying, are normally unable to fulfill the corresponding demands. If the job is done only according to DIN-regulations (as for parquet-, carpenter- or room-work) then this very often does not meet the performance demands required in theatres or for event halls.
Some of the peculiarities listed below should be paid attention to:
- Careful timber selection
- Special timber importation from Honduras or Northamerica is necessary, as the wood required is not traded on the home market
- Special wood planing
- Non-creaking floors
- Extraordinary floor wear and loading capacity demands
- Possibility to insert screws and drills into the floor
- Dull finish surface
- High demands on surface structures
- Trap doors, stage revolving discs, platforms, mobile sceneries, power-points, banister capsules and others are to be fitted without restriction to the above points
- Knowledge of public meeting places regulations
The past has shown that theatre floors, which were fitted by companies with poor or no experience at all, lack the necessary resilience to sustain pressure strain and performance-time requirements. When taking decisions attention should be paid to the supplier presenting references regarding "real" theatres. Stage floors in schools, village public meeting halls or others do not, generally, show at first sight that the flooring cannot cope with extreme demands.
